Student Guide to Accessing the
UConn Student Administration System (PeopleSoft)

Welcome to UConn! The following instructions review how to access the Student Administration System using the 7-digit User ID you were provided. This system will be used for many purposes throughout your UConn career: updating personal information, searching for and registering in classes, checking your grades, transcript, financial account status, and more.

Paw Log into the System for the First Time:
www.students.uconn.edu

 
Access this web site using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Note: IE is the preferred browser for the Student Administration System.
 


 
  1. In the upper left section of the page, click the PEOPLESOFT radio button.

  2. In the USERNAME field, enter the 7-digit Student Administration System ID provided to you.

  3. For your initial sign in, in the PASSWORD field, enter Wmmddyy
    (Capital W and mmddyy of your birth date).

  4. Click GO.

  5. If the Note to Students box appears, click CLOSE to close it.


 
PawChange Your Password:

From the Home page, follow this navigation:
 
SA Self Service > Personal Portfolio > Tasks > Password and Personalization

 
Click the Password and Personalization link to access the General Profile Information page.

Click the Change Password link to change your password.

Password Rules
  • Must be at least 8 characters
  • Must contain at least 1 number
  • Must contain at least 1 symbol, such as: ! @ # $ + ?, etc.
  • Case-sensitive
  • Expires in 120 days
  • Locked out at 6th unsuccessful attempt
  •   change password
     
    1. Type your Current Password (Wmmddyy).

    2. Type your New Password using the password rules above.

    3. Confirm your New Password.

    4. Click OK.

    5. Click the  button to save your new password.

    6. Make a note of your password. You will need your password at Orientation/Registration.

    Waive Your Health Insurance Coverage Charge (If  Desired):

     
    Important! If you do not wish to be charged for health insurance coverage because you are covered under another plan providing equal or better coverage, you must waive this coverage. Follow the steps below to do so.

    From the Home page follow this navigation:
     
    SA Self Service > Learner Services > Finances > UC Health Insurance Waiver
     
    Click the UC Health Insurance Waiver link to access the Student Health Insurance page.
     

     
    If you wish to waive the health insurance charge, click the Health Insurance Waiver page tab.
     

     
    1. In the Insurance Company Code field, click  next to the field, and then select the Insurance Code for your family insurance company.

    2. Complete the Insurance Company ID and/or Group name or number.

    3. In the Subscriber Information frame, from the Relationship to Subscriber field drop-down arrow, select the student’s relationship to the insurance policy subscriber.

    4. Complete the name, address, and date of birth of the insurance policy subscriber.

    5. In the bottom frame, select the  radio button if you wish to waive the health insurance charge.

    6. Important! At the bottom of the page, click the  button.

    To access additional information about student health insurance, click the Student Health Insurance page tab, and then click the Student Health Insurance Info link.
